Hbar vs government profile weight –

If you are not going to spend the money on a high end barrel and its just a chrome lined barrel get a govt profile. This site and its community are a labor of love.

Gun laws don't make sense. So the A2 profile barrel really wasn't necessary. The weight differential is ounces maybe up to 1lb - but not pounds. It was quite literally designed because A Somebody made a boo-boo using a straightness gauge. I'm sure someone will chime and and I'll have learned another thing from this forum!

The gov't profile is a LW contour under the hand guards with extra material at the end worst place to have it. They are "old" Bushmaster. Unless you're just going to shoot from a rested position. The guy has a high quality barrel with tons of material to play with….

With some meat near the can to absorb that heat, you might enjoy a greater number of rounds fired before excessive heat issues popped up. Bald Fat Guy. I had ADCO do one for me about 3 yrs ago.
